A tax cut!

A TAX CUT! The Central London Congestion Charge is being abolished in the western half (covering areas to the west of Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner and Victoria).

Of course no word on reducing the £8 levy in the original zone to £5. The extension in 2004 was always uneconomical so the price rise was brought in to make the books seem to balance.

I predict less congestion along Earl’s Court Road and Chelsea Embankment which were never suited for a major road pricing scheme boundary.
